I'm Chris. I have a VW T2, a camera, a drone, and a strong preference for being outdoors. The van has been mine for a few years now. It has taken me around the North Coast 500, up the west coast, through Glencoe more times than I can count, and into a great many lay-bys at the end of a long day.
It has also cost me far more than I expected to keep on the road. That is where the writing started — the maintenance, the fuel, the paperwork for the continent. If it caught me out, it will catch someone else out, so it goes in the journal.
The photography came alongside it. I'm still learning, and I like that. Landscapes and the van at first, then wildlife, which taught me patience faster than anything else has. The drone came later and changed how I see a place: you drive a pass for an hour and then you fly above it and finally understand its shape.
What I'm after in all of it is the same thing — an honest frame of somewhere real, in good light, without dressing it up. A photograph that will still be worth looking at in twenty years. That's the whole intention behind this site.
Stills and drone footage are available to license, including work not shown here. If you're making something and need frames of the road, the weather or the wildlife, tell me the shape of it and I'll find what fits. Reach me on any of the accounts below.
Let's tell your story.
